Soccer Game Assault: Metal Water Bottle Weapon Of Choice For Attacker In Manassas, Police Say

A 46-year-old man was arrested for hitting another man in the head with a metal water bottle during a soccer game in northern Virginia, authorities said.

Blerand Hoxha struck the victim in the head multiple times with the water bottle during a game at Hellwig Park on Saturday, Aug. 26 in Manassas, Prince William County police said.

Hoxha then fled on foot while other attendees called police. Hoxha was found nearby by police and charged with malicious wounding.

Police said only that the two men knew each other, though circumstances surrounding the fight weren't immediately clear.
